Debco has been manufacturing premium potting mixes for over thirty years and has set the benchmark for the industry both in the commercial and retail markets. As market dynamics have changed dramatically in the past five years, Debco has developed additional strategies to reflect this change. The premium end of the potting mix market continues to grow, yet not at the same rate as the medium price-point market.

The challenge for Debco was to develop a range that would meet a medium price point but not compromise any of the attributes or values that the brand stands for. Debco’s commitment to research and product development has led to this innovative range called Green Wizard.

A little magic for your garden.

The Green Wizard range of products has been developed exclusively for the independent retail market to meet the needs of the price-conscious, value-driven consumer. Green Wizard is strategically placed to cater for these consumers, who prefer affordable, quality potting mixes and mulches.

The Green Wizard range is created using an innovative manufacturing process, which produces a base material from which a number of alternative formulations can be manufactured. While the product is pine-bark based, the processing differs from the rigorous manufacturing and quality assessment protocols of the premium priced ranges, thus affording a more value based product.

The Debco Green Wizard range includes four specific products:

	Green Wizard Premium Potting Mix 30L Manufactured from a blend of aged and composted pine bark. This pine bark blend has been designed to provide the ideal air to water ratio for strong root growth over a broad range of plant types. For strong foliage and flowering, selected granular and controlled-release fertilisers have been blended to provide balanced nutrients. A soil wetting agent has been added to ensure prolonged and easy rewetting of the potting mix. This potting mix is suitable for all container types and most plant species. Ideally suited to bedding plants, trees, shrubs and vegetables. Not suitable for Australian Native plants. Green Wizard Premium Potting Mix is a safe and easy to use potting mix that will meet most container-gardening needs.
	Green Wizard Regular Potting Mix 30L Manufactured from a blend of aged and composted pine bark. This pine bark blend has been designed to provide the ideal air to water ratio for strong root growth over a broad range of plant types. Green Wizard Regular has essential nutrients and elements, and is ideally suited to bedding plants, trees, shrubs and vegetables. Also suitable for Australian Native plants. A soil wetting agent has been added to ensure prolonged rewetting of the potting mix. For best results, a controlled-release fertiliser should be added to provide sufficient plant food for strong growth.
	Green Wizard Garden Mix 30L Green Wizard Garden Mix is a blend of aged and composted bark and fine grade sand.  The blend has been designed so the mix can be used as either: a garden mix that is placed over the surface of the soil for planting; or used in large planter boxes or large volume pots or containers. Green Wizard Garden Mix has been pH adjusted to suit a broad range of plant types. Low levels of starter fertiliser have also been added to provide some plant food at initial planting. A quality controlled-release fertiliser or organic fertiliser should be added to provide long term plant feeding.
	Green Wizard Mulch 60L Green Wizard Garden Mulch is composted organic material that has been selected for its ability to provide mulching properties. Green Wizard Garden Mulch will: Reduce moisture loss, thus extending the intervals between watering. Reduce weed growth, lowering general garden maintenance. Prevent high soil temperatures that can damage roots of shallow rooting plants. Garden Mulch is non-toxic to plants and animals and is odourless.

How to use Debco Green Wizard Potting Mix

	Assemble your plants to be repotted, along with fresh containers and Debco Green Wizard Potting Mix.
	Give each plant a thorough watering an hour or so in advance, and allow to drain.
	Select a clean container approximately 25 mm wider than the original and partly fill with Debco Green Wizard Potting Mix, straight from the bag.
	Turn the plant out of its old container. Loosen root ball gently and remove any rotten or entirely dried out roots.
	Position the plant in the centre of the new container. Check the level and fill with new mixture.
	Shake the container gently by tapping the bottom on the ground to allow mixture to settle. Do not firm or pack down. Normal watering will soon give all the firming needed.
	Initial soaking after potting is essential.
	Protect plant from heat and strong sunlight for a few days, and keep moist.

Hints

To save time, re-pot as many plants as possible at the one time. Make sure that you close the bag tightly after use to keep moist.  Store in a cool, dry location.

Feeding: Depending on the type of plant, and how vigorously it grows, Green Wizard Potting Mix requires a reliable organic or chemical fertiliser to be added. Debcote controlled-release fertiliser is recommended.

Watering: Water thoroughly when required and remember this varies with climatic conditions. Water only when the potting mix feels dry to touch. Always consult your nursery staff for advice.
