April 2005
The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2005, held at the beginning of April, was attended by more than 125,000 people. It was definitely a great success for the organisers and Debco was proud to be a part of it.
This year Debco participated in MIFGS as major sponsors of the GardenStyle 2005 Collection. GardenStyle was an initiative of the Tree and Shrub Growers Victoria and involved a huge display in the prominent ‘Terry Bracks Garden’.
Debco offered seaorganic, Debcote and SaturAid for sale throughout the show, with proceeds going to the Big Brothers Big Sisters charity.
John Patrick from ABC Gardening Australia TV program spoke on the main stage in the Exhibition Building each day about the differences between cheap and premium potting mixes.
Debco was proud to be able to assist other organisations with their displays at the Show, including Anthony Tesselaar International, Rowse Horticulture, Dirtscape Dreaming and Tupperware, The Edible Garden, Tesselaar Bulbs and the Great Victorian Hanging Basket Competition.
Radio advertisements ran on Magic 693 for Debco potting mixes every day of the Show - which was broadcast live from their outdoor broadcast van.
REVEALED 2005 was a very successful industry function organized by the Nursery and Garden Industry of Victoria. Held at the Melbourne Museum, it enabled companies to showcase new products. Debco promoted Seaorganic, Debcote and the Debco NAPAC biodegradable pots. It was very well attended by the media and industry, and generated a lot of interest for our products. Better Homes and Gardens television program ran a feature on the Debco NAPAC biodegradable pots, which aired during the Show.
Again, the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show highlighted the best of Victorian gardening and horticulture, and was a very enjoyable event for all who attended.
