Cuttings of frangipani (Plumeria spp.) can be taken now. By taking longer cuttings, up to one metre, you can give your plant a better start. Take the cutting with a clean horizontal cut and put it to one side while the cut forms a callous. Plant it shallowly in Debco Propagation Mixture.

Plant bare root fruit trees now. Cut back branches to strong outward growing shoots and keep young plants well watered until established.

Apply Phostrogen Plant Food to spring flowering annuals to encourage healthier growth and more flowers.

Plant bare rooted roses now, avoiding hot, windy days.

Prune roses, removing dead and diseased wood as a priority.

Divide cannas and re-plant as strong groups where foliage and flower can be seen to best effect.

Plant sweet corn in succession to provide an on-going crop. Improve the soil with suitable organic compost prior to planting. Seedling plants should be 25cm apart and in rows 90cm apart.

Plant gladioli in groups to offer attractively scaled collections in garden settings.
