December in your Tropical garden

In tropical areas it's time to sow beans, cabbage, carrots, capsicum, squash, lettuce, sweet potato, corn and tomatoes. Sow seeds into trays filled with Debco Seed Raising Mix and keep in a cool, dry, well ventilated place until they are ready for planting.

Hibiscus are gross feeders and should be treated with Phostrogen Plant Food every month until next March for stunning summer blooms.

Now's the time to think about preparing your garden before you set off on holiday. Water is the major concern so give beds a thorough soaking and apply a fresh layer of mulch before you go.

Apply Phostrogen Plant Food to your bedding plants every fortnight to keep them flowering for Christmas.

Mulch is the secret weapon of water smart gardeners. It helps suppress weeds and conserve moisture, while improving the look of gardens. Mulch conserves water by reducing evaporation from the soil. You'll love Debco's Mulch 'n' Feed, which also improves the condition and fertility of the soil.

Keep roses well fed during the growing season with regular doses of Phostrogen Plant Food.

Herbs such as basil, thyme and sage add zest to your summer cooking. Liquid feed herbs every fortnight during the growing season with Phostrogen Plant Food. Regularly tip prune plants to maintain compact growth - of course the prunings can also be used in the kitchen!
