Ideas and inspiration to ensure that you
make the most of what each month offers in your garden.

offers a growing encyclopaedia of gardening know-how for each
of Australia’s climatic zones.
As evenings become cooler and there is dew around, snails and slugs become active. They are best controlled by use of snail pellets. Use these economically by placing them close to vertical surfaces, where snails collect. Sprinkle bait among the leaves of dietes, dierama or New Zealand flax for significant benefits.
Lawns can be rejuvenated now. Thin lawns need extra grass cover to prevent weed entry. Disturb the soil surface, apply Debco SaturAid and sprinkle seed over the areas before applying a light surface dressing. Then water thoroughly. Keep your lawn well watered while the seed germinates and the grass seedlings become established.
Crowns of rhubarb can be planted now. Plant them into soil well fertilised with organic material, choosing two year old crowns from your local nursery. Keep them watered and provide a surface dressing of Debcote time control fertiliser. Dig up established crowns, divide and replant them every two or three years.
